Dottie has been Adopted!!!

Miss Dottie has found her forever home!  Her new mom and dad brought their 2 young grandchildren to meet Dottie today, and she was so enthusiastic to meet them all that they just had to take her home with them!

I will certainly miss our endless hours of fetch and the cuddles and laughs she always gave me.

I can't wait to hear how she's settling in with her new family!  Best wishes to all!

Dottie & Dolly

My last post was questioning whether Dolly is housebroken...she is soooooo close!  We've been going days without accidents, and she lets me know when she needs to go out.  But there is still the occasional moment where she can't seem to hold it (usually right when we wake up in the morning).  With the progress she's made though, I have no doubts she'll get that down in no time!

Dolly does not like accessories.  I tried to get pictures with both bows and a scarf, and she managed to escape them before I could grab the camera!

Dottie, on the other hand, was very happy to wear a cozy scarf.  She was more than willing to sit for pictures!

Dolly. Housetrained?

Alert! Alert! Alert!

I am sooooo close to announcing this peanut is housetrained!  She's been really good about not having accidents in the house for a couple weeks now (we still have the occasional accident).  BUT twice now (once yesterday and once again just now) she has alerted me that she needs to go outside!  Yesterday I had noticed she was sniffing around a bit, so I kept a very close eye on her.  After 2-3 minutes she stopped sniffing and came over to where I was sitting and jumped up and down a bit to get my attention.  Sure enough...straight outside!  Today I didn't even notice her sniffing around.  She was just playing with Dottie and all of a sudden she got up and walked over to me and pawed at my leg to get my attention.  Again...straight outside!

She's also been surprisingly good going outside in this extreme cold.  I was ready to accept my fate of cleaning up accidents from all three of my pups this week, but they've all been going out on schedule!  The only difference is they do their business and run back in right away!  No dawdling!  It's great!
