Tippy, Ruthie, and Jett

Another weekend of great weather for pictures!  I finally got some good ones of Ruthie...she is so active it's difficult to get a non-blurry picture!

You may notice that I did manage to give everyone a haircut this week.  Tippy's is the best...he's the easiest to work with.  Ruthie isn't bad.  She didn't like the trimmer, but as long as I pet her and talked calmly to her while I was cutting her hair, she didn't mind too much.  She still needs a bit of trimming on the chest, but I have to find a time when she's ready to relax!  Jett's haircut still needs work.  He was terrified of the trimmer, so I have to do him by hand, and it's taking much longer.  But it's coming along bit by bit.

Ruthie - she actually paused for me!

Tippy in his usual relaxing pose

Aww shucks, mom!

Taking in that crisp Autumn air.

"Yes, I am the man of this house."

I asked them to give me their best smiles.

A great full body shot of Ruthie...look how beautiful she is!

"Mom, there's something behind you."

I had to crumple a leaf to get her attention here.

Leaf noises didn't keep her attention for long.

Squinting off into the distance.

Just look at this beautiful girl!

Jett loves to eat leaves.

Ruthie?  Is that you actually laying down?

Why yes, she does take a break once in a while!

Jett eating another leaf?  It can't be!

Ready to pounce on a good leaf.

Jett's best model pose.

Stalking his next leaf-prey.

"Heeheehee! I'm guilty of something!"

Smile so they don't suspect you.

This is a very handsome shot of Jett, don't you agree?

This pup is growing up to be a very wonderful, loving boy!

Tippy

Post-Emergency Bath
Tippy ran in the house from his morning bathroom break just covered in mud up to his knees!  So in the middle of my morning routine, I had to administer an emergency bath for him.  He was not pleased.  I have no idea where the mud came from, but a few minutes earlier Jett had run in with wet (but not muddy) paws.  So obviously something I'm going to need to investigate this weekend.

Other than that, all the kids are doing wonderfully!  They absolutely love their new backyard playground.  Tippy did manage to find the weak spot in my fence, but he didn't run away.  He came right back to me when I called (he thought I was playing).

I hear we might get some snow tomorrow.  If so I'll try to get some good pictures of everyone seeing it for the first time!  Should be fun!

Tippy, Ruthie, and Jett

What a weekend!  I had the house appraised Friday, so everyone keep your fingers crossed for me that I've improved the value and can get a good deal on a refinance!  As soon as the appraiser was gone, I went out and moved the dog fence to its final location.  My house + deck is an L-shape, so the fence closes it off into a big square.  The dogs have a good 1000sqft at least to run around in now.  And boy do they love it!

It was pretty funny the first time I let them out...previously the fence had been at the end of the deck, but now I blocked that off so they can't escape.  Well they went running down the sidewalk and all three of them crashed right into the fence.  Hilarious!  But they immediately figured it out and set off to explore every inch of their new space!

There is a tree on the corner of the house that must have housed an old rabbit den or something, because Ruthie will not get out of there without bribery.  I'm hoping she'll start digging, so next spring when I'm ready to do some more landscaping the tree will be easy to remove.  :-)

Yesterday was a nice day, so we took a ton of pictures outside in the new play area.  As per usual, most of them were blurry (I am not a photographer), and a lot are basically the same.  So I'll only post my favorites of each pup here.  Enjoy!

Jett wanted to know what the camera was.

Ruthie was so over it.

Tippy was ready for a nap!
Clearly all the dogs need new haircuts...so hopefully I'll come up with the energy for that sometime this week...don't hold your breath.

Tippy

Here we have a rare video of Hardy playing.  It was fun to see the two old men play a little bit this weekend!

Tippy, Ruthie, & Jett

My home renovations are winding down and I was finally able to move back into my living room this week.  All of us were getting so cramped that it's nice to finally have that extra space again.  Anyway, we all had a relaxing moment on the couch yesterday...the first in at least a month.  All the dogs were so quiet.  It was amazing.  So obviously I took a video of each of them receiving some pets.

And later that night while I was trying to do some very important internet browsing in the office, all 3 of them decided it was play time.  By the time I started filming Ruthie had pretty much dropped out.  But Jett and Tippy playing is pretty cute.

Jett's Morning Routine

  • 5:00am Mom's alarm goes off.  I bark to let her know that I heard it, and am awake and ready for the day!
  • 5:02am Mom must have hit snooze.  I'll go back to bed for a bit.
  • 5:30am Mom's alarm goes off again.  Now I'm really awake!  I can hear Tippy get up and shake off (his collar makes a jingle sound!), so I know it's my turn soon!
  • 6:00am Mom is finally done with her morning routine!  I hear her coming in my room!  It's breakfast time!
  • 6:03am I finished my breakfast...time to see if anyone left any crumbs behind that I can eat!  No?  No worries!  Time to run outside!
  • 6:10am All finished outside!  Time to run back inside and see if Hardy is done with breakfast (he eats in a separate room because he is small and I can/will steal from him easily).  He is!  Mom is opening the door!  I have to beat Ruthie to get his leftovers!
  • 6:01am Hardy's food is gone.  Now it's play time!  Where is Ruthie?  Where is Tippy?  Where is mom?  Everyone is busy.  I'll play by myself!
  • 6:05am Ruthie is back!  Let's wrestle!
  • 6:50am Mom is sitting down to put on her socks...now is the perfect time to play fetch!
  • 7:20am Mom is packing her lunch!  I'm going to stay close by in case she drops any crumbs!
  • 7:30am Bummer.  No crumbs today.  No worries!  I'll play with Ruthie!  Wait, is mom going to the treat cabinet?  She is!  She's saying she has to go to work.  So I will run to my crate so I get a delicious snack!  Then I will take a nap while mom is at work so I'm ready to play when she comes home!
