Tippy, Ruthie, Jett, and Chateau/Maggie

Another good week in the books!  Last week overall was so great weather-wise, and this group of dogs might be my favorite group!  They all get along so well, and for the most part they listen to me too!

I know I say this every week, but Tippy is really such a great dog.  He has my ideal dog personality.  I wish I could just cuddle him all day.  I haven't cut his hair yet, but I'm still considering it.  He's just so cute as a fluff ball.  With the nice weather this past week, I have pretty much had the door open to the backyard nonstop, and Tipster just loves being outside.  He's definitely a fan of sunny spots.  He does try to give me his best puppy dog eyes to get out of being in the dog room while I'm at work for the day, but when I pick him up and put him in there, he doesn't argue.  I know he likes being in a room where he has windows all around (he likes to sit on the window ledge and watch the neighbors).  I think he'd just prefer if I didn't make him stay cooped up with the rambunctious pups.

A nice, relaxing Sunday:

Ruthie is still the sweetheart of the house.  Always wanting to cuddle...insisting on being on my lap until I give in and let her.  We have been working on crate training at night over the last couple of weeks.  While she doesn't have the command down, I'd say she is absolutely crate trained.  She willingly goes in with or without a treat, and she doesn't make a peep the whole night.

Jett is the energy source of the house.  I swear he never runs out.  Luckily for him he has 3 foster brothers and sisters that take turns playing with him.  We've been working on crate training with him too.  He's less excited about going in at night, but doesn't fight me about it.  And he is silent until about 5am.  That's when the birds start chirping, and he feels that's a decent time to wake up.  We are still working on housebreaking, but he is definitely improving.  Since we've had the door open most of the time this past week, he hasn't really needed to ring the bells.  But 90% of the time he does know when he needs to go outside, so he makes it.  If I catch him in the act the other 10% of the time, I just tell him we need to go outside, then I head back to the door and he stops what he's doing and goes out.  We have had very few accidents this past week (luckily for me, because the belt broke on my carpet cleaner again, and the new one won't arrive until this week!).

Here's a video of Jett being a goofball:

Maggie is trying to takeover the position of household sweetheart.  And she's really giving Ruthie a run for her money.  I do notice a bit of jealousy if another dog tries to cuddle with me, but she doesn't get mean or anything, she just puts her head or paw on me so I know that she wants attention too.  I still haven't experienced any biting or nipping toward me, so that's definitely a good sign.  The one negative I have seen so far is that she gets extremely exited to see me after the work day.  I know...how is that a bad thing?!  Well, she's a bigger dog (big for me), so I'm not used to a dog being able to jump my full height.  If I don't brace myself, she could probably knock me over.  I'm trying to work with her on not jumping.  But honestly, if that's the worst quality about her then we have a great dog here!
